I am working on a new choker. It's not a custom made one, but it is a one of a kind. It's black velvet of course. I'm adding a pretty crocheted border to it right now. It's going to have a black and gold snake pendant on it with some gold chain, and I'm still working out the rest. I'll be posting a picture of it soon, once it has more done to it.
I'm adding more pictures to Artfire.com as soon as I do some tweaking to the photos I took. I still have plenty of product left so get yours while you can. :-)

More jewelry made
I had only planned on finishing one necklace today, and I ended up making a necklace and matching earrings. I'll be taking pictures of them tomorrow to post here and on artfire.com where I'll be selling them separately. I'm still working on my woven beaded necklace. I ran into a small snag with one of the bead choices I made, but I'm now back on track, so the entire piece will be done by tomorrow evening.
I made this!!

Choker Update
This is what the choker for J looks like since I added the edging to it. I need to put the ends on now and decide what else is going on it. I was supposed to get with J tomorrow to go over some ideas, but she's ill so that's going to have to be postponed. If my other friend, Hollie, comes over, she may help me brainstorm some ideas since she helped me with Shiloh's choker which turned out so cool it's ice cold! :-D

Choker Update
I finished putting the edging on the choker I'm making for J. I don't know if I posted about it on here or just over on Artfire since I finished it in the wee hours of the morning this morning.
By the way, my gift shop is over on Artfire.com, and it's called Griffin's Gifts if you want to go check it out. I have almost a dozen things on there now, and I'll be adding some more just in time for a little Black Friday sale so please go have a peek if nothing else. :-)
As for the choker, I'll be adding the picture I took of it tomorrow after I get home from work. It's just how it looks with the edging on. I haven't added anything else yet. :-) I'm getting with J on Monday, supposed to anyway, to discuss some of my ideas and see what she wants to go with. I want her to like the choker so I'm allowing her some input but not a lot. :-)
Anyway, see you guys tomorrow!!

Edging Project
is still ongoing.
I ended up having to do some other things besides work on the edging so it didn't get done either yesterday or today. I hope to have it sewn onto the ribbon tomorrow. I had to order some more ribbon as well because once I cut the two pieces of ribbon I need for the current choker project, I only has two inches of ribbon left. :-)
This means I have to wait a week to get the ribbon. Happily, my second client is willing to wait because she knows a rushed job will not be as nice as one that was well thought out and executed, and she knows those types take time.
I'm still going to post the picture of the edging once it's added to the ribbon so you can see how nice it looks before I add things to it. :-)

Today's Project
Since I have to work today, my project for today is simple and fairly easy to do. It still takes time, but that's not an issue.
So, what am I doing?
I'm crocheting the edging for one of the custom ordered gothic chokers I'm making. I found an edging I liked and am tweaking it to fit my purposes. You can find the exact same edging at the following link:
http://crochet.about.com/od/edgings/ss/Lacy-Vs-Edging.htm
I am altering the pattern only a little bit, but it's enough to fit my needs.
I'll post a picture of the edging once I have it on the ribbon I'm using to make the collar. :-) That's tomorrow's project since I have to work then too. :-)

Artfire Studio
I now have an Artfire studio so I can start working on selling the things I make. You can go to the studio at the following link:
<a href="http://www.artfire.com/ext/shop/studio/GriffinsGifts" style="color:#333; font-size:18px; font-weight:bold">GriffinsGifts</a><a href="http://www.artfire.com/ext/shop/studio/GriffinsGifts" style="border:none; display:block"><img alt="Holiday - ArtFire.com" title="Holiday - ArtFire.com" src="http://static1.artfire.com/images/banners/holiday/holiday_widget_195_1.png" width="195px" height="195px" style="border:none"></a><a href="http://www.artfire.com/ext/gifts" style="color:#333; display:block; font-size:14px; text-decoration:none">Find Gifts on ArtFire</a>
I've added just jewelry for right now, but I will be adding more as I get pictures taken. Speaking of pictures, below is a picture of the first gothic style choker I've ever made. It was a custom order so it's already sold, sorry.
I think I did very well for a first try. What do you think?

Creative Blizzard!
Over the last few months I've been creating things like crazy!
I made a blanket for my godson. It fits a full size bed on the top. I made it out of sport weight camo yarn from Red Heart and camo fleece was sewn on the back. He LOVES it!! :-)
I made an afghan in a seashell pattern for my friend, Hollie. It's made out of sport weight yarn from Red Heart as well and is amethyst.
I've been making jewelry as well. I have three necklaces up on Yardsellr over on Facebook right now. I had five, but I sold two. I have one more waiting to be sold, and I have a custom order for a gothic piece which I will post a pic of because I'm going to be so proud of my first attempt at making this style I'm sure. I am currently putting together two more necklaces to be sold on Yardsellr. All of the jewelry is one of a kind.
I got an order for two pairs of baby booties so I made them. They are pale blue fine weight by Caron. They came out so cute, and the parents who got them love them! :-)
I am currently working on a baby blanket and an afghan, both for coworkers. They are both being made out of Red Heart sport weight yarn in different colors - of course. :-)
I am also working on a scrap fabric quilt. The fabric is being cut into strips and sewn together. It's going to be a lap quilt so it won't be all that big.
I am also working on creating another Amish style flower rug out of scrap fabric that is too small for the lap quilt.
I made a purse out of camo yarn - left overs from my godson's blanket it fact. I plan to put it up for sale on Yardsellr as soon as I get a picture taken of it. I also have another set of baby booties I plan to put up for sale.
Also in the works, a vintage crocheted roll brim hat in gold crochet thread and a vintage purse made in gold crochet thread with a faux silk lining.
I plan to have pictures of many of my projects posted as soon as I have time! Lots more creating in the future!!

Crocheted Project #1: 6 Sided Baby Blanket
This project is a much more simplified version of a baby blanket I found on http://www.favecrafts.com/Crochet-for-Baby/5-Side-Baby-Afghan-Crochet-Pattern-from-Red-Heart/ct/1
I used an multi-colored Red Heart yarn whose name I can't remember at this time. I'll find it and edit this post to include it I promise. The blanket worked up very quickly, and I only used 2 1/2 skeins of yarn for it. I'll edit this post and include the picture as soon as I take one.

Corset #1 5-9-2012
This is how the corset looked before I finished all the sewing. I am now working on getting eyelets put into it and getting the trim put on. Due to money issues, this is going to take longer than I thought. However, it's going to look marvelous when it's finished.
Does anyone know how to put eyelets in?? I am trying to find out how to keep from messing up my work.

Just checking in...
I've been busy with work and looking for a second job so haven't done much posting on here. This doesn't mean I haven't been crafting because I have. I have several crocheting projects in the works that I'll talk about individually soon. Soon like tomorrow. :-)

Corset #1 Update
I did a fitting with Hollie the future owner of the corset, on Thursday, April 12, 2012. It fits beautifully so I just needed to get the rest of the materials to finish everything up. I got the supplies on Saturday, April 14, but I haven't had any time to work on the corset until today. I plan to get the entire thing done today and schedule what we both hope will be the final fitting this Thursday, April 19, 2012. I'll post pictures of the corset either Thursday or Saturday after work.

Been Busy
Since my last update, I have fitted my friend for her corset for the second time, and we made some minor correction changes in the plan for the corset's overall look. :-) I will be doing what I hope to be the next to the final fitting - the final one being the last fitting she'll need to make sure the corset fits and looks well on her.
I am also working on an afghan whose pattern I found here on blogger. I'll be posting pics and linking to the blog of the person who did the original pattern to share her excellent work with you! :-)
If those two projects weren't enough, this krafty katt is busy working on a blanket for her best friend, and the pattern is a very basic design of half double crochets and single crochets. I'll be posting pics of it as well as soon as I get a chance to.
I have several more projects planned as I get the money to get the supplies and the time to work on them so keep checking back!!
Feel free to submit links to your own krafty blog so I can check it out and share it!!

Corset 3-26-2012
I am looking forward to the fitting set for tomorrow. :-) I have the back sewn on, and I've pinned on the placket where the laces will go. I will make sure the small darts I made last time I did the fitting are right and then, I'll do the last of the sewing before I add the laces, the remaining boning and the eyelets - not necessarily in that order. :-)
I'll post pictures of the corset at this stage once I get to Hollie's and get her fitted.

Sewing Project #1: Corset
Back in February of this year, 2012, a friend of mine, Hollie, and I started talking about my making a corset for her. Around the beginning of March, Hollie and I went out to Hobby Lobby in Lufkin and got the main stuff for the corset: cloth, matching thread, and the pattern. They were out of boning so she was going to get it for me later. I took measurements of her in February and after a couple of weeks after we got the initial stuff for the project, I took measurements again.
When I began the project, I had to take the pattern back to get a larger sized one because we'd grabbed the wrong one. :-) Then, I got to work. I currently live in a household consisting of myself, my best friend, her husband, her two children - 5 yrs and 14 yrs - and a dog. I also work weekends and have ADD. To make a long story short, the project isn't done yet.
I have sewn up most of the corset as you'll see by the pictures I'm including with this post. I did a fitting a few days after that. Wednesday and Thursday(21 and 22 March), I added the boning and added the back part of the corset. On March 27, Hollie and I have arranged to get together for fitting #2.
I'll be getting the interfacing, eyelets, lacing and the rest of the boning this weekend. If the fitting goes well, I'll have the entire project done by the end of the month. :-)
These pictures aren't professional, but I think they'll do the trick. What do you think?
